Meet Dr. Kahn
Dr. Michael Kahn grew up in northern New Jersey and moved to Western Pennsylvania to attend the University of Pittsburgh for his undergraduate degree in Liberal Arts. He was initially interested in pharmacy, but found his passion in dentistry and continued on to graduate from the University of Pittsburgh – School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Kahn completed a one year internship in anesthesia with Dr. Leonard Nienhuis and trained in oral surgery for two years with Dr. Stuart Kline at Montefiore Hospital. Dr. Kahn was given the honor of working for the U.S. Army as an oral surgeon in William Beaumont General Hospital, Fort Bliss from 1970 to 1972 during the Vietnam Campaign. He was then awarded a Fellowship from the International Association of Oral Surgery in London, England. In 1972, he returned to Pittsburgh with his wife Shirley joining his former mentors, Drs. Zubrow, Spatz and Kline. He obtained board certification with the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and was elected to serve on the Board of Delta Dental of Pennsylvania. At that time, he was also elected President of Medical Staff of Allegheny Health Network – Forbes Regional Hospital. Dr. Kahn has two children living in New Mexico and Utah whom he enjoys visiting often.
